Smile
I just got home and my wonderful son is awake. I layed him down and smiled at him while saying his name and he DEFINITELY smiled back for about 20 seconds. I was in such shock and it was so amazing to see I forgot to take a picture. Mashallah he is also 10 Ibs now
Here are some pictures afterward

Home
Back at Apple Inc.
Kamal and Hema came up to my work today again at Apple for a lactation class. While Hema was in the class I took Kamal around so everyone could see him because he was awake now. He got to see a lot of people and was very well behaved the entire time.
After that we all went out to lunch and had a good time. By then Kamal was tired and fell asleep.

quick update
So last week Kamal was barely sleeping, staying up late crying consistently like he was in pain and not settling down. The past few days however Hema has been implementing some new ideas and strategies to help Kamal with his gas problem and they seem to be working. He still wakes up in the night and is a little fussy but not as bad as last week. We read in a book that a baby between 4-6 weeks (which is where Kamal is now) goes through a phase of colic. We believe or at least hope that phase is what he just passed through and that the phase is behind him. Its to early to tell and one thing I am learning is there is no consistency to a baby. Just because two days in a row something happens doesn't mean it will happen the third day.

Kamal at Apple
Appointment
1 month
Kamal is one month today mashallah!!! Very excited, may even get a cake to celebrate. I'm thinking we celebrate one month, six months and then a year :) Nothing wrong with overcelebrating my sons achievements.
Kamal is still having his gassy problems at night but last night we were proactive and it was not so bad.

Kamal on his baby mat
same old same old
Kamal this morning
Up late again
Poor Kamal was up late again so Hema and I tagged team holding him. I took over around 1am and Hema told me to help burp him because she thought it was gas. After giving him medicine and burping him for nearly two hours I was skepticle. Around 2:45 am I put him in his swing and let him swing but he still would not calm down. At 3 am I picked him up and he suddenly passed gas and burped very noticebly. Within seconds the non stop screaming Kamal was fast asleep. I then woke Hema up and went to sleep.
I have to say for awhile I started thinking Kamal was being ornery but now I believe he was in a lot of pain so I feel bad. Shows I have a lot to learn.

Chatting with the Grand parents
I'm home to see my family
Dr visit
So Kamal and Hema have gone to the doctor appointment. Things are looking good. Last week he weighed 8.5 Ibs which was a concern to the dr but Kamal is now 9.5 Ibs which is good news. He has also grown from 21.5 in to 23 in. The dr also said that he is in the 95% percentile for height and the average is 50%. For his weight he is 75% percentile and again average is 50%. At this time the dr is going to take blood for a standard blood test. Of course Kamal is passed out.
