Kamal is resting with mommy
Messing around (video)
Kamal is playing with a new toy. Not sure what to call it but Im sure you've all seen one of these. I do like the aquatic scene that it represents, to bad there is no sharks in it. I have attached some pictures of Kamal laying there and also a video. Hopefully he grows into this a little more and actually pulls on the toys etc.
This is video of Kamal on his back
This is video of Kamal on his stomach getting "Tummy time"
Leaving Dr's office
So we just left the Dr's office and he said everything looks good. He has lost some weight but the Dr said he'll gain it back in the next week or two. He also said the circumcision was looking good and that after today we shouldn't have to worry about the extra precautions we take. We told him about Kamal's sleep habits and he said that also was going good. We are now on our way to Target then home.

Football
So the first weekend of football since Kamal was born Detroit Lions win there first game in over 19 games, (1 1/2 years since there last win). I am very proud of my son for somehow causing this victory to occur, he has brought great luck to me. Please see the pictures of Kamal watching and listening to his first game Pittsburgh Steelers vs Cincinnati Bengals.
Dirty diapers
Kamal has been feeding well and regularly lately and with great feedings come great dirty diapers. The funny part is Kamal will cry when he has a dirty diaper but when we put him down on the diaper change station he stops crying. Then when we have changed him he loves to stare at himself in the mirror (must realize what a good looking 6 day old he is ;) )

3 a.m (video)
Its 3 a.m in the morning and Kamal is wide awake. I actually really enjoy when he is awake and not crying b/c he seems so curious about everything and I think he is adorable (he's my son so its ok for me to say that ;) ) Most of the time he is eating and sleeping and going to the bathroom so its rare for me to just talk to him with him wide awake looking around. I know that soon he will be doing it more and he is only doing it now so much because he is 5 days old. Please enjoy this video of my wonderful son soaking in the world (its just me he's soaking in but right now Hema and I are his world which is really cool)

Iftikhars place
Grandparents
Today Kamal met his Grandmother (Hema's mother) and Phil for the first time. They were very excited to see him and same vice versa. Were very excited because Hema's mother will be coming next Saturday for a week which were obviously thrilled about.
Tonight we are going to see my brother. Will update then.

Good morning
Morning all. I must say I'm lucky my wife is so cool and takes care of Kamal because I went to sleep at midnight and next thing I know it's 7 am. I jumped out of bed though because Kamal was AWOL and I slept through the night so I thought something was wrong. Turns out he was really good last night, slept through the night and Hema had to wake him up for his feedings. Hema decided at that point not to wake me up for feedings because she has gotten good enough and healthy enough to take care of the feeding on her own. When I woke up and he was gone was because he had a dirty diaper which I happily helped Hema change.

Babies R Us
So we went to Babies R Us to buy some things for Kamal (he gets all the toys now instead of me). We put him in his baby chair and then put a blanket on him.
We just got home and one of things we bought Kamal was a snuggle nest. Its basically something you put in a bed with you and the baby sleeps in it without worry that you will smother him etc. It also has a light at the top so when its dark and your sleeping and the baby wakes you up you can turn on the light easy. We hope to only use this for a couple of months until Kamal will transfer to his crib which at this time he seems to not like.
Kamal is finally sleeping
First day at home (video)
In this picture he is moving so fast its a blur ;)
So last night was not a night I am hoping to repeat. Kamal pretty much kept us up all night crying. Were not sure if it was due to being in a new place or if there was something else bothering him but he was not his normal self (I know that sounds weird b/c thats based on 3 previous days only). The one good thing in the past 24 hours is that Kamal is eating a lot more which is good for his health. He is feeding routinely every 2 to 3 hours. Hema and I have switched off through the night and day sleeping and taking care of Kamal b/c anytime I set him down his crib he cries. We are not just picking him up as soon as he cries either, we wait to see if he will soothe his self but there is something definitely bothering him.

I probably will not post again today, especially if Kamal continues his "diva" ways ;) but who knows.
I have posted a video of him in his swing.
Adjusting
Up till now Kamal has been a nice, quiet, even keeled baby but last night that all changed. He kept us awake on and off pretty much the whole night. We were told by the nurse this might happen as the baby adjusts to his new home. I took him in the middle of the night and placed him on my chest and he stopped crying so there maybe some merit to what the nurse stated.
It's now 7 am and Hema is feeding him so he is content again. Hopefully the rest of the day he is good. Today we will introduce him to his swing and some of his toys. I will be posting video and pictures later today.

Kamal had to burp
Kamal woke us up an hour after feeding and we couldn't figure out why. I checked his diaper and there was nothing there so Hema was going to feed him so I told her let's try burping him first. I tried burping him and he burped almost immediately. Here's hoping that was the problem. Took some pics because that may also be the reason ;)
