Cat and Mouse

Sorry we haven't posted in a bit but were realizing that our little bundle of joy is a lota bundle of work. Hema has been excellent with him, waking up every 2 hours to feed him and I dont know how she still has her sanity. She is sleeping maybe 1/2 hour to an hour in between feedings. The reason we are feeding so much is that Kamal has lost 7% of his body weight in one day, and even though thats not good its still within range of normal. If he hits 10% we are not allowed to take him home so we are trying to feed him as much as possible.

At this time we are playing a cat and mouse game with Kamal. He starts to cry hard and we have to figure out as fast as possible what's wrong. Is he hungry? Does he need his diaper changed? Does he need to be burped? (he has acid reflux like his daddy :) ) Does he just need to be comforted? Does he need to be wrapped tighter or be put in a swaddle? Does he need mucus to be cleared from his nose and mouth? What is amazing about it however is that when you figure out the correct one he almost immediately stops crying and looks around like nothing has happened.

Will keep you posted on new developments. Right now its time to go to sleep.

aww he is a cutie.. you guys are doing a great job.. that's the fun part figuring out what's wrong with the baby after a few days you will be experts and then u will give me advice when we need it.. rizwan had acid reflux too.. and wrapping him tightly and putting him elevated helped a lot..
